National Honor Society
Sponsor - Mr. Kienbaum
The Kopperl High School NHS serves to distinguish those students who have shown excellence in the areas of academics, volunteerism, and co-curricular activities. Membership not only honors students for their many accomplishments; it challenges them to develop through active involvement in school and community projects. The four key purposes of NHS include: creating an enthusiasm for learning, stimulating a desire to freely help others, promoting leadership skills, and developing strong character.
National Honor Society is an organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement while developing characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. Through NHS Chapter service activities, members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection. Membership is both an honor and a commitment.
To be considered for membership to the National Honor Society, students must meet the organization's standards of scholarship. This includes having a minimum weighted average of 90 and possessing superior conduct and academic grades. NHS includes only Juniors, and Seniors.
Members are required to maintain the standards of NHS and to participate in service projects.
